Vyld uses seaweed as the primary raw material for its menstrual products. This involves harvesting sustainable seaweed and processing it into fibers that can be used to create biodegradable tampons and pads. Vyld’s design approach focuses on creating fully biodegradable menstrual products that can break down naturally. The production process ensures that the end product is free from synthetic chemicals, plastics, or harmful additives. Vyld sources seaweed from farms that use sustainable cultivation practices. Seaweed is farmed in a way that promotes marine biodiversity, enhances water quality, and sequesters carbon, contributing to environmental restoration. Vyld integrates sustainable practices throughout its production chain, including energy-efficient manufacturing and minimal waste production. The focus is on creating a circular economy where the product lifecycle supports environmental regeneration. Together with Goldeimer they launched the Diaper Forest project to tackle the problem of disposable diapers. Vyld is developing a compostable diaper insert, without any plastic or superabsorbers, but with seaweed. The diapers will be composted under controlled conditions by Goldeimer and a small forest will be planted from the fertilizer - the diaper forest
