Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary provides a haven for the protection and preservation of Tasmania's unique wildlife and natural heritage. It manages a 24-hour wildlife rescue service that includes a state-of-the-art wildlife hospital and robust rehabilitation programs. Their veterinarians are specifically trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgery for wildlife. This sanctuary is open 365 days of the year and gives visitors the chance to meet some of Tasmania's incredible animals up close—the vast majority of which are found nowhere else on Earth. Bonorong supports sustainable living through local, fair-traded products, reducing paper and plastic, grey water, and recycling. It gives free or discounted entry to people and groups with a disability or disadvantage. Funds brought in from ecotourism experiences, education programs, and donations are used toward the rescue and rehabilitation process and in support of community and environmental projects. Bonorong is also involved in some very important conservation programs, such as the rehabilitation of seabirds and breeding of the Tasmanian quoll.
