Recognizing that scarce rainfall and an undulating topography led to rapid water runoff, the team implemented a series of rainwater harvesting structures, including nine trenches and ponds strategically placed throughout the forest. These interventions effectively capture and retain rainwater, ensuring year-round availability and facilitating groundwater recharge. Consequently, a previously dried-up stream has been rejuvenated, benefiting both the forest and neighboring villages. The cooperative planted over 100,000 bamboo and aloe vera plants, alongside various fruit trees, to promote biodiversity and generate sustainable income. Bamboo harvested from the forest is utilized in eco-friendly furniture production, while aloe vera is processed into natural skincare products, collectively generating an annual revenue of approximately ₹50 lakh.
