Flow Hive is a globally recognized beekeeping brand invented in Byron Bay, Australia, by father-son innovators Cedar Anderson and Stuart Anderson. Launched in 2015 via one of Indiegogo’s most successful crowdfunding campaigns, the Flow Hive revolutionized honey extraction by enabling beekeepers to harvest honey directly through integrated frames with a simple turn of a key — greatly reducing stress on bees and labor for beekeepers. The Flow Hive design has been adopted by hobbyists and professionals in over 130 countries, making honey harvesting more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. Beyond product innovation, the company fosters community education and sustainable beekeeping practices, contributing to broader pollinator health and ecosystem awareness.

Flow Frame Honey Harvesting Technology
Flow Hive uses a patented Flow Frame system that allows honey to be harvested directly from the hive without removing frames or disturbing the bee colony. By turning a key, the internal cells of the Flow Frames split, enabling honey to flow out through a sealed channel while the bees remain calm and inside the hive. This method reduces stress on bees, eliminates the need for smoke, heavy lifting, or centrifuge extraction, and simplifies the harvesting process. The technique supports sustainable beekeeping by prioritizing bee welfare, improving accessibility for beginners, and encouraging responsible honey production.
