Gaukriti – Method & Technique
Cow Dung Collection & Fiber Extraction Cow dung is collected, washed, and filtered to remove impurities. Natural fibers inside the dung (grass, husk, cellulose) are extracted for use as raw material.
Eco-friendly Pulp Preparation Dung fibers are mixed with cotton waste/natural fibers and beaten into pulp without using chemicals, bleach, or chlorine.
Sheet Formation Using Handmade Moulds The pulp is spread on traditional paper-making moulds, leveled, and pressed to form uniform sheets.
Natural Drying & Sun-Curing Technique The formed sheets are sun-dried or gently heat-dried to maintain strength, reduce energy use, and preserve the natural texture.
Hand-Pressing & Surface Finishing Dried sheets are hand-pressed, smoothened, and trimmed. The paper may be embossed, textured, or coloured using natural dyes.
Crafting Into Products The finished eco-paper is turned into diaries, cards, envelopes, gift boxes, packaging, and décor through cutting, stitching, binding, and manual finishing.
