Goodsercle is a social enterprise dedicated to advancing the circular economy by refurbishing whitegoods (fridges, washing machines, ovens, etc.) and diverting them from landfill. Since its inception in 2011, the organization has worked with households, businesses, local councils, and community groups across Melbourne to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and e-waste. Through its services, Goodsercle collects unwanted whitegoods, refurbishes them to a high standard, and makes them available at affordable prices to individuals and families in need. This process not only reduces waste and carbon emissions but also creates local employment opportunities and promotes sustainability. Over 4,800 families have benefited from Goodsercle’s services, and more than 45,000 tonnes of CO2e have been abated. With a strong focus on environmental responsibility and community support, Goodsercle continues to promote sustainable practices, offering a hands-on solution to e-waste management.
