Greenspace Information for Greater London (GiGL)
Greenspace Information for Greater London (GiGL) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that collaborates with professional networks and the community to ensure London’s natural environment is understood, protected, improved, and enjoyed. They mobilize, collate, manage, and share detailed information on London’s wildlife, parks, nature reserves, gardens, and other open spaces1. GiGL invests in robust survey and monitoring programs and good data stewardship. They provide access to data, information, and services to support customers’ research and help them make informed decisions1. Fees are on a sliding scale based on customer turnover, and surplus is used to provide free support to members of the public, students, and a network of community groups and nature specialists.
GiGL is a member of Social Enterprise UK, the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres (ALERC), and the National Biodiversity Network1.
