Say Earth is a non-governmental organization working for the restoration and rejuvenation of ponds & the afforestation of urban and rural landscapes. Constituted in the year 2020 by the “Pondman of India”, Mr. Ramveer Tanwar, the organization has come a long way in the field of conservation of natural ecosystems and has been able to restore more than 80 waterbodies and plant 6 forests, especially in the urban landscape. Say Earth’s team is united in their motivation by a strong desire to check the rapid change of a liveable natural landscape to one dominated by concrete and other by-products that have grown to symbolize human progress and development, often devoid of any hint of life.
Say Earth is heavily involved in the rejuvenation of ponds and lakes, primarily in rural and urban areas. This involves cleaning, desilting, and restoring the water bodies to their natural states. Say Earth believes in taking up a stepwise approach when it comes to providing solutions. A needs assessment survey is conducted to gauge the type and extent of the problem. It helps in curating specific solutions unique to the ponds which is then discussed and implemented on the field. A general methodology applied is pond identification and demarcation, proposal generation ,NOC from concerned govt bodies, clearing floating garbage, dewatering , earth work, construction of mini pond and filtration chamber, and finally fencing & plantation .Say Earth team does whatever possible to reintroduce green cover by planting trees on sites that were lying vacant and were of no use. Sustained efforts were made to sensitize stakeholders about the urgency of planting trees on a large scale.
