Alpine Bio is an innovative food biotechnology company redefining protein production through advanced plant molecular farming. By using plants as living bioreactors, the company produces complex, high-value proteins at a scale, cost, and environmental efficiency unmatched by traditional fermentation or animal-based systems. Alpine Bio has successfully expressed more than 15 complex proteins in plants and holds over 40 patents protecting its proprietary technologies. One of its most significant breakthroughs is the creation of the world’s first plant-derived casein, the key protein responsible for milk’s texture, functionality, and nutritional value. In addition, Alpine Bio has developed a proprietary plant-based protein that replicates the functional performance of whey protein while delivering it at roughly half the greenhouse gas footprint and significantly lower cost. By combining scientific rigor with sustainability, Alpine Bio enables food and ingredient manufacturers to create next-generation dairy alternatives that are scalable, climate-positive, and commercially viable. The company’s work supports global food security while accelerating the transition to low-impact protein systems.
