Spell is an Australian boho womenswear label designed in Byron Bay. It sells dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, swimwear and accessories, with sizes from XXS to 3XL. Its signature prints are hand-drawn by the Byron Bay team. Styles are rarely recut, and the brand presents them as pieces to keep and pass on. The brand began with sisters Isabella and Elizabeth selling at Byron Bay's artisan markets. Good On You lists certifications including B Corp, Fairtrade and the Global Recycled Standard. Good On You rates Spell Good overall: Great for planet, Good for people and Good for animals. It notes organic cotton and other lower-impact materials, a published breakdown of materials, low-waste cutting, digital printing and no plastic packaging. More than half of final production is certified, most of the supply chain is traced, and some workers are paid living wages. Animal materials in the range include leather, wool and alpaca, with a portion of the wool recycled or certified, and the brand has a formal animal welfare policy.
