Purusha People is a US womenswear brand rooted in yoga. It makes sleepwear, loungewear, intimates, bra tops and everyday clothing in sizes from XS to 4X, and releases its pieces in small, limited-edition drops. Its clothing is made from OEKO-TEX certified Lenzing Tencel lyocell. Spandex makes up less than 10% of the fabric, and the brand says it plans to switch to a plant-based version once one is widely available. Prints use water-based inks, and dyeing takes place in a GOTS certified dye house. Every step, from knitting to finishing, happens in downtown Los Angeles. The brand says all its makers are paid a guaranteed living wage. Fabric scraps are recycled, damaged pieces are sold as seconds, and packaging is plastic-free and made from recycled paper. A portion of profits from each drop goes to a charity. Good On You rates Purusha People Good overall: Great for planet and animals, since its whole range is vegan, and It's a Start for people. Good On You notes that the brand does not define what it means by a living wage.
