5R” Cycle Foundation is a non-profit organization to promote zero waste management practices to switch from the current linear economy to a circular economy. According to the 5 R’s, four actions should be taken, if possible, prior to ‘Recycling‘: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Repurpose. Incorporating this methodology into daily practices, be it business or residence, will minimize landfill waste and help maintain a balanced ecosystem. Separating waste at source helps to decrease damaging greenhouse gases and the production of virgin materials. Their vision is to transition from linear economy to circular economy by establishing a zero waste management system in order to promote environment, wildlife and marine conservation.
5Rcycle follows the 5R model: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reclaim, Redesign, to tackle waste management holistically and maximize the value of resources while minimizing waste. These materials are then carefully sorted to ensure proper recycling processes are applied based on their type. They uses modern recycling technologies and processes to break down waste materials into reusable components. This includes the use of shredding, melting, and granulation techniques to convert waste into new, raw materials for production. By promoting the circular economy, the foundation ensures that materials stay in use for as long as possible. Once collected, materials are transformed and reintroduced into the market as new products, reducing the need for virgin resources. The foundation employs reclamation techniques to recover valuable materials from products at the end of their lifecycle. 5Rcycle actively participates in raising awareness about sustainable practices. Through educational programs and workshops, they teach individuals and businesses about the importance of reducing waste, recycling, and responsible consumption.
