Denmark
(di)-vision is a Copenhagen-based design and fashion label founded in 2018. Born from constant exposure to creativity in everyday life, the brand’s ethos revolves around reimagining existing items and giving them new purpose and expression. With sustainability at the core, (di)-vision takes previously worn or discarded materials and reconstructs them into fresh designs. The brand’s commitment to the environment is evident in its local production model, with everything being handmade by local artisans in Copenhagen. The label’s creations are an embodiment of how creativity can emerge from rethinking and reworking what already exists, blending art, design, and fashion. The name (di)-vision reflects this philosophy: it’s not just one thing—it’s how you see it. Whether it’s transforming a jacket into two or combining two thoughts into one vision, (di)-vision invites people to see things in a new light, through a sustainable and innovative lens.

Methods and Techniques
The "Split" Zipper Construction: The brand's defining technique is the inclusion of a functional zipper running the full length of the back of their tops (jackets, shirts, hoodies). This allows users to "divide" the garment and zip it together with another (di)vision piece, encouraging interaction and endless customization by mixing halves.
"Create from What Already Exists": Their core production method revolves around sourcing Deadstock fabrics (leftover rolls from other brands) and Vintage Surplus (like military parachutes or sleeping bags). Instead of producing new virgin textiles, they cut and sew from materials that are already in circulation.
Deconstruction/Reconstruction: They employ a hands-on "cut-and-paste" design methodology. For example, they might take a vintage military liner, cut it apart, and sew it together with contrasting deadstock cotton to create a hybrid garment that blends old character with new structure.
Local & Ethical Production: A significant portion of their reworking and design prototyping is done locally in Copenhagen or within Europe. This keeps the supply chain short and allows for the high level of manual craftsmanship required to sew inconsistent vintage materials.
Zero-Waste Patchworking: To minimize textile waste, smaller scraps from the cutting floor are saved and sewn together to create accessories like hats, bags, or patchwork details on larger garments.
