The app rates brands on three main criteria- evaluates how the brand treats its workers, including issues like labor rights, fair wages, working conditions, and supply chain transparency, looks at the brand's environmental impact, including their use of sustainable materials, carbon footprint, water usage, and waste management, and assesses the brand's stance on animal welfare, including their use of animal products and practices related to animal testing. Brands are rated on a five-point scale ranging from "We Avoid" (the lowest rating) to "Great" (the highest rating), based on publicly available data and information from third-party certifications. Each brand's rating comes with a detailed explanation of why they received their score. This includes information about the brand's policies, practices, and any third-party certifications they have. Users can search for specific brands to see how they rate on the app. If the brand is not listed, users can suggest it for future review. The app allows users to explore brands by categories such as clothing, footwear, accessories, and beauty products. It also includes filters for sustainability, ethics, price range, and more. Good On You relies on data from trusted third-party organizations, such as the Fair Wear Foundation, OEKO-TEX, and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), to inform its ratings.
