A single adult oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water daily, playing a crucial role in removing nitrogen from the water and enhancing the harbor's ecology. Rose Shellfish participates in Wellfleet's shell collection program, recycling shells to create juvenile oyster habitats and regenerate inter-tidal reefs. Their commitment to preserving local resources and food systems extends to promoting sustainable practices.
