Eco Intimates
Eco Intimates is an Australian label that makes lingerie, underwear, bras, sleepwear and loungewear for women. Its fabrics include GOTS certified organic cotton, bamboo, silk and natural cotton. Many of its bras are wire-free, and its ruffle knickers are among its best-known pieces. Designer and founder Madonna Bain creates every pattern at home on the Northern NSW Coast. The pieces are made in small batches by small, female-led workshops in Bali, Indonesia, and she works closely with them on new designs. She says slow production gives her time to check quality and to refine styles based on what customers tell her. Good On You rates Eco Intimates Good overall, with 4 out of 5 for both planet and people. The rating mentions its use of lower-impact materials, limited production runs, recyclable packaging and partnerships with women artisans. It also says final production takes place in a country with a high risk of labour abuse. Good On You found no evidence that the brand ensures living wages across most of its supply chain.
