Baume Essentials is a Swedish label making lingerie, underwear, loungewear and activewear for women. The range includes thongs, high-cut briefs, shorts, bralettes and leggings. The pieces are meant to work across a whole day, from the office to an evening run. Two sisters, Michaela and Denise, started the brand to give more care to the garments worn closest to the skin. The main fabric is Tencel Lyocell. The materials are OEKO-TEX certified, and the brand says its fibres are FSC and PEFC certified. Production takes place in Portugal in small batches, with a European supply chain, and the brand says it discloses every component. Good On You rates Baume Essentials Great overall: Great for Planet and Good for People. It points to the slow fashion model, production close to home, closed-loop water use and the lack of plastic packaging. It also notes GOTS certification for the final production stage. On the other hand, Good On You found no evidence of a Code of Conduct or of living wages being paid.
