The Vegan Society is the world’s oldest vegan organization, founded in 1944 in the United Kingdom. It defines and promotes veganism as a lifestyle that avoids all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty. The organization works across education, policy advocacy, research, and industry collaboration to make veganism accessible and mainstream. A major initiative of The Vegan Society is the internationally recognized Vegan Trademark, which certifies products free from animal-derived ingredients and animal testing. The Society actively engages with governments, healthcare professionals, businesses, and educational institutions to influence sustainable food systems and ethical consumption. Through evidence-based campaigns, public resources, and community outreach, it addresses climate change, public health, biodiversity loss, and animal welfare. As a registered charity, The Vegan Society operates with transparency and global credibility, supporting individuals and organizations in transitioning toward compassionate, environmentally responsible, and plant-based practices worldwide.
