Unbelts is a Canadian brand that makes adjustable stretch belts for adults and children, in sizes that go up to 5X. The belts have flat buckles and contain no metal, so they do not set off airport scanners. The brand also sells upcycled accessories such as hair ties and wet/dry bags, along with clothing care and repair items. The belts are made in the company's studio in Edmonton. Unbelts says its supply chain pays living wages all the way through and that its suppliers use recycled input materials, including yarn made from recycled water bottles. It repairs belts through a warranty program, turns elastic offcuts into other products and sells slightly imperfect belts at a lower price. Founder Claire started the business in Shanghai before moving it to Edmonton. Good On You rates Unbelts Good overall. It scores the brand Great for people and Good for planet and animals, noting the in-house production by a small team, living wages in final production and limited production runs.
