Beyond Bins is a flagship program by Biji-biji Initiative, aimed at addressing plastic waste issues while improving the livelihoods of marginalized communities. Inspired by the global project "Precious Plastic" by Dave Hakkens, Beyond Bins enables small-scale plastic recycling within trained communities, providing them with the means to generate additional income. This initiative promotes a circular economy by giving waste a newfound value and encouraging positive behavioral changes towards recycling. By transforming plastic waste into new products, Beyond Bins helps reduce the environmental impact of plastic pollution and supports local economies. The program emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and community development, making a significant impact on both the environment and the people involved. Beyond Bins' efforts contribute to long-term ecological health and resilience, demonstrating the power of collaborative solutions in tackling global environmental challenges.
