.Zero-Waste Pattern Making: This is the primary design technique where every piece of the pattern is designed to fit together like a puzzle, ensuring that virtually no fabric is left behind on the cutting table. This approach requires intricate design and pattern research, making the pieces unique and complex to produce.
.Upcycling & Patchworking: The brand repurposes both its own pre-consumer cutting scraps from its European facilities and post-consumer faulty or unsold items into new capsule collections.
.Collaboration with Iro Iro: They collaborate with the social enterprise Iro Iro in Jaipur, India, where fabric scraps are hand-torn into strips and rewoven on traditional looms into new, unique textiles. This process transforms what would be industry waste into a material with a new life and texture.
.Monomaterials and Plant-Based Threads: To further aid in the end-of-life recyclability of their garments, the brand has transitioned towards using monomaterials (products made of a single type of material) and uses plant-based sewing threads.
.Slow Fashion Model: They reject mass production in favor of limited production runs and seasonless products, which are built to last.
.Circular Business Models: The brand operates a re-sale platform for pre-loved clothing, where garments are inspected, cleaned, and repaired to give them a second life. They also have a take-back system for worn-out items.
.Consumer Education: The company actively educates consumers about sustainable fashion practices through workshops, social media campaigns, and even a children's book about the journey of a sustainable t-shirt.
.Certifications: Their commitment is backed by certifications such as PETA-approved vegan and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification, which ensures high environmental safety and social responsibility standards in their supply chain.
