Founded in 2016 by Nishanth Chopra, OSHADI is an innovative sustainable fashion brand and collective based in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Meaning 'essence of nature' or 'healing plant' in Sanskrit, the brand is dedicated to reviving ancient Indian agricultural practices and traditional artisan heritage. OSHADI mindfully builds a complete seed-to-sew regenerative supply chain, overseeing every step from farming to finished garment. At the core of its operations sits a 250-acre regenerative cotton farm where restorative agricultural practices replenish soil nutrients and boost biodiversity. The collective collaborates directly with local farmers, spinners, weavers, natural dyers, and tailors within a ten-kilometer radius, ensuring extreme transparency and localized production. By prioritizing ethical fair-trade principles, eliminating middlemen, and fully recycling cotton waste, OSHADI empowers rural communities while offering beautiful, timeless clothing that gives back to the earth and redesigns the modern fashion system.

Regenerative Cotton and Indigo Farming : The enterprise utilizes a highly rigorous agricultural supply chain method, actively restoring nutrient-depleted soil and increasing biodiversity by growing native cotton and indigo through ancient, chemical-free restorative farming practices.
Hyper-Localized Artisan Manufacturing : OSHADI employs a deeply advanced socio-economic production technique, meticulously centralizing all spinning, natural dyeing, weaving, printing, and sewing processes within a ten-kilometer radius of their farm to successfully minimize carbon emissions.
Natural Plant-Based Dyeing : They utilize an incredibly responsible chemical formulation method, actively replacing toxic synthetic colors with homegrown botanical dyes, successfully ensuring that their textile finishing processes do not pollute rural groundwater resources.
Circular Scrap Cotton Upcycling : The organization employs a remarkably comprehensive material management technique, carefully collecting every single scrap of leftover fabric to recycle into new garments, quilting, and recycled paper tags, successfully operating a zero-waste facility.
Organic Compost Generation : OSHADI utilizes an uncompromising environmental restoration method, systematically gathering food and plant waste from surrounding villages to produce rich organic compost, successfully distributing it back to their farmers to constantly nourish seasonal soils.
Farmer-First Pricing Logistics : They employ a highly empowering commercial negotiation technique, actively allowing the local cotton farmers to independently decide the selling price of their raw materials, successfully ensuring a fair, living wage across the entire grassroots economy.
