The Samhanach Gown, a floor-length sheath of black chiffon that clings only to air. Its boat neckline frames the collarbones with austere grace, while the open back falls away into shadow — a quiet act of rebellion against modesty. Loose-fitting and spectral, the gown is less a garment than a presence, a veil of night draped upon the living. Minimal, ethereal, and untouchable, the Samhanach Gown is a study in absence — a hymn to the elegance of darkness itself.

SCATHED is a gothic womenswear label based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It makes dark, romantic pieces such as gowns, dresses and harnesses. Local artisans handle every stage of production, from design through to finishing, inside the brand's own studio, working in small batches. Collections come out twice a year, with only three of each design made in each size, and every order is made to order, usually within two to three weeks. On materials, the brand uses Desserto cactus leather in place of animal leather. It also uses recycled polyester, organic bamboo cotton and organic cotton from a certified textile maker that runs on solar power, as well as eco-tulle made from recycled ocean plastic. Garments are sewn with recycled polyester thread, fabrics are not prewashed, and offcuts are reused for tags, labels and accessories. The brand says its studios run on solar power. Good On You rates SCATHED Good overall. It scores the brand Great for planet and Good for both people and animals, while noting there is no evidence of a Code of Conduct or of living wages being paid.
