Selaginella apoda, commonly called meadow spikemoss, is sold by Jiffy Plants as a single plant in a 2.5-inch pot. In the wild it grows in damp soils in swamps, wet fields, open woods and along stream banks. Its stems carry two rows of small leaves and two rows of larger ones, with light green leaf margins. The seller recommends bright indirect light, porous and well-draining soil, watering in the morning or evening once the top 3 to 4 inches of soil feel dry, and keeping it away from AC vents. It can be used in hanging baskets or as ground cover in indoor landscapes.
