Pseudorhipsalis Ramulosa, Red Mistletoe Cactus

Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa, the red mistletoe cactus, is an epiphytic cactus from the rainforests of Central and South America with flat, ribbon-like trailing stems that suit hanging baskets. Jiffy Plants sells it as a single plant, offered in a jiffy bag or with a 2.5 inch pot. The nursery recommends bright, indirect light, noting that morning sun can deepen the red colour of the stems while afternoon sun can scorch them. Water in spring and summer when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil dry out, and less in winter. It likes 50% or more humidity, 18 to 24°C in the growing season, and an orchid or cactus mix with added perlite or bark.
